What’s the best bit about technology? For most, it is the fact that it allows us to do things differently (easily/reliably/both). For me, it is about the technology’s democratization. Every time a new technology hits the market, efforts to take it to masses begin almost instantaneously. The Vivo V11Pro is the perfect example of this fact. It follows in the footsteps of Vivo X21 and Vivo Nex in incorporating an in-display fingerprint reader at a lower price point than either stablemate. Does that make it worth consideration though? Time to find out.

What’s new about the Vivo V11Pro?
The VIvo V11Pro joins the growing number of notched display devices in the smartphone market. From Vivo, this is the seventh notched display smartphone (notches are here to stay). The thing about its notch is this – it is a waterdrop-style notch and this is the first Vivo phone to sport it. Coupled with a small chin, the V11Pro looks quite sleek. Don’t take our word. Take a look at the images here.
Having a waterdrop notch means one has to look closely for it to know there is a notch. Moreover, it adds to the sleek look of the phone by reducing the earpiece to a slit. Vivo has put all buttons on right side of the phone to further accentuate this feeling. The rear looks quite neat and premium, save for Vivo branding and Designed by Vivo mentions (no one doubts you designed this device, Vivo). The dual rear-camera setup is outlined by a gold accent.
Enough talk about the design. A phone like the Vivo V11Pro is as much about its internals as its looks. To that end, it makes use of a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip with Adreno 512 GPU. The phone has 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card). Up front, there is a 6.41-inch Halo FullView Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2340x1080p) resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone has 91.27 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
The Vivo V11Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.5 skin. It rear camera setup consists of a 12-megapixel primary lens (f/1.8 aperture) and a 5-megapixel secondary lens (f/2.4 aperture). The front camera has a 25-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options on the phone include dual-SIM with dual-standby, 4G, GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth 5.0. Powering the phone is a 3400mAh battery with fast charging support.
The Vivo V11Pro is available in two colours – Starry Night and Dazzling Gold. It measures 157.91mm x 75.08mm x 7.9mm and weighs 156 grams. In the box, owners will get the Vivo V11Pro, charging cable + adapter, earphones, a protective case, SIM ejector tool, and some documents.
Is the Vivo V11Pro worth consideration?
It is here that things get interesting for Vivo V11Pro. Price-wise, it is not separated by much from the X21. The phone has two personal assistants – Google Assistant and Jovi Smart Scene. Its rear cameras have Google Lens technology. For hardcore gamers, there is AI Game Mode. In terms of security, it has in-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition features.
All these features beg a question – what makes the Vivo V11Pro really worth consideration? The answer is simple – various offers from Vivo. Chief among them is a one-time free screen replacement warranty. HDFC customers can get Rs 2,000 cashback on pre-booking the device. Moreover, those looking to exchange their old phone for a new Vivo V11Pro will get extra Rs 2,000 off over the exchange value of their old phone. Is the Vivo V11Pro still not worth a consideration?
